Greetings!

It is my pleasure to bring greetings on behalf of the 380 members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated^®, Omicron Omega Chapter located in Birmingham, Alabama. Omicron Omega Chapter is the first graduate chapter chartered in Alabama (i.e., chartered October 24, 1924) and the oldest graduate chapter in the South Eastern Region. Our Chapter is the home of the 15th South Eastern Regional Director, Soror Savannah Crews Jones, along with the extensive list of members who serve on the regional and international levels.

In 2024, Omicron Omega Chapter celebrates 100 years of service and sisterhood! Omicron Omega Chapter provides engaging, enduring award-winning programs and events to meet the diverse needs of the Greater Birmingham Area. Along with over 1000 chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated^®, Omicron Omega Chapter programs support the execution of the 2022-2026 program initiative, “Soaring To Greater Heights Of Service & Sisterhood,” established by the Sorority’s International President.

It is truly an honor and a privilege to serve as the Chapter’s 42nd President! Our membership represents a wide array of professional women of high scholastic achievement, diverse occupations, skills, interests, generations, and backgrounds. Our mission is to cultivate and encourage high scholastic and ethical standards, to promote unity and friendship among college women, to study and help alleviate problems concerning girls and women in order to improve their social stature, to maintain a progressive interest in college life, and to be of “Service to All Mankind”.

We continue to foster the mission of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated^® through our interaction with our three undergraduate chapters: Gamma Pi Chapter (Miles College), Iota Phi Chapter (University of Alabama at Birmingham), and Omicron Mu Chapter (Samford University).
